Wellington Central Police Station is the headquarters of the Wellington Police Force and its Paranormal Unit.

History[]

During the 1930s, the Wellington Police headquarters was based in a building in Mount Cook. The building has now been refurbished into student accommodation.[1]

The current police station includes an interrogation room, a briefing room, a few jail cells and a laboratory. The Wellington Police Paranormal Unit have a secret room hidden behind a shelving unit. Despite its secretive nature, several members of the police force have entered, but none of them were interested in joining the Paranormal Unit until O'Leary and Minogue agreed.[2]

During the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, the station's tea room served as the Wellington Paranormal COVID-19 Crisis Communications Command Centre.[3]

Notable incidents[]

  • A teenage girl possessed by a demon, Bazu'aal, spider-walked on the walls of the interrogation room before escaping out of a station window.[2]
  • Officers O'Leary and Minogue brought an alien pod found on a farm to the station. The pod started moving and later attacked Maaka, however he was unharmed.[4]
  • Medium Chloe Patterson was invited to assist the Paranormal Unit with a haunted house. She received a “message” from Minogue’s grandfather. Minogue was amazed by this, despite the fact that his grandfather was still alive.[5]
  • Sheena, a suspected werewolf, was interrogated but allowed to go free. Maaka later realised she was a werewolf because she left a dog owner smell behind in the room, despite her not having a dog.[6]
  • Officers O'Leary and Minogue brought in a plastic bag that was mistaken for a ghost, but Maaka kept it in his filing cabinet for safekeeping. The bag later turned out to be a yōkai, which attacked Maaka, but he was able to stuff it into a bin.[7]
  • A box of doughnuts made by Maaka’s grandmother went missing and he threatened to dock everyone’s pay until the doughnuts were found. They were later discovered in the back of Maaka’s police car.[8]
  • Officers Donovan and Laupepe arrested a zombie businessman, who attacked and infected Donovan in the interrogation room. Donovan became a zombie and infected Laupepe; the two were given desk jobs to avoid a zombie outbreak. The businessman was placed in a jail cell, where he proceeded to infect two other people.[8]
  • A dead body that looked almost exactly like Minogue was brought into the station for investigation after being found in a countryside car park. The corpse turned out to be that of an extraterrestrial flora.[9]
  • A teddy bear belonging to Maaka was possibly possessed by a ghost while in the Paranormal Unit headquarters.[10]
  • Minogue took Daisy, an imaginary friend, to the station. She got loose and apprehended the Paranormal Unit before escaping. One of her tentacles came off and Parker became temporarily invisible when he came into contact with her blood.[11]
  • The Paranormal Unit arrested shapeshifter Joe Blakes, who then transformed into multiple fears of the police force in order to escape.[12]
  • Two ghosts arrested for trying to kidnap people realised what they had become in the interrogation room and used their abilities to teleport out of the building.[13]
  • The Paranormal Unit took in a radioactive meteorite that crashed in Naenae. Parker accidentally touched it and gained magnetic superpowers.[14]
  • A piece of a sentient fatberg was recovered from Minogue at the station. Through carrying out experiments in the lab, Maaka came to understand the fatberg’s form and realised that fire could destroy it.[15]
