Trent Corby is a young man who bought a car, unaware that it was haunted by a ghost. He appears in Wellington Paranormal.
Biography[]
Trent, a resident of Naenae, purchased a second-hand green 1985 Nissan 300ZX – Z31 and fully customised it himself. While working on the horn, he heard a creepy tune (identified by Officer Minogue to be Are You Old Enough by Dragon), a “mournful moaning” and a sinister voice telling him to “get out of my car”. Trent left the Nissan and it disappeared.
Trent reported the incident to Wellington Police and was interviewed by Minogue and O’Leary, who suspected that the car was haunted. Shortly afterwards, they heard reports of the car erratically driving by itself and they were eventually able to track it down and get it towed back to Trent’s house.
The Paranormal Unit investigated the car’s history at the station and found that its original owner was Shane Thompson, who killed himself in 1989 by driving the car off a bank into the ocean. As they were researching this, the Nissan took off again and burst out of Trent’s garage door, leaving him very distressed.
The officers tracked the car to Shane’s former residence, along with his ex-girlfriend Sharon. She was eventually able to persuade Shane's ghost to leave the car for the afterlife; it is not known if Trent took the now-harmless car back.[1]
