The Temple of Blood-Devourers, is a secret vampire temple that serves as the Staten Island Vampiric Council Headquarters[1], handling trials and punishments concerning incidents occurring around the Tri-State area.
Information[]
Located in the basement of an ordinary office block and accessible via elevator, the temple is very large, connected by long and confusing dark corridors lit by LED lights to reduce the fire risk. Trials are carried out in the Chamber of Judgement, a huge circular room where the council may perform a traditional dance beforehand. Familiars are forbidden to enter this room (unless they are testifying) and are required to wait in the significantly less majestic familiars room, which appears to be a maintenance room. The temple is also used as a prison, with prisoners including Garrett and Vasilika, and has a corridor the stretches to an outdoor well to execute vampires by exposing them to sunlight.
History[]
Nadja, Laszlo, Nandor and Guillermo were summoned to the temple when the three vampires were accused of murdering Baron Afanas. They were found guilty and sentenced to death in the well, but were rescued by Colin and Guillermo.
Structure[]
The temple includes the following:
- An elevator that servers as the entrance[2]
- Medium security cells[1]
- Prisons, where vampires may serve their sentence
- Various abattoirs, with a sign-in sheet for use
- The Chamber of Judgement, a large circular room where trials are held
- A break room, which stores snacks (i.e. human bodies) all week until Friday, when they are thrown out
- The Chamber of Curiosities, containing a collection of ancient artifacts of vampires from around the world, like the Cloak of Duplication and the preserved penis of the legendary vampire hunter (and distant ancestor of Guillermo de la Cruz), Van Helsing, among others. It also contains the former living quarters of the Sire.
- The familiar's room, effectively a glorified maintenance room with a bed
- The Library of Antiquities, host to a large body of books, vampiric archives, artworks and the world's oldest and largest collection of pornography
- The Well of Daylight, an outdoor well used for execution via sunlight. It is connected to the main building through a long corridor
