A super slumber is the act of a vampire sleeping for an extremely long and undetermined period of time in their coffin.[1]
Process[]
Super slumbers are typically undertaken as the last resort for vampires who are unhappy with their current situation.[1] While it is common for older vampires such as Baron Afanas to sleep for several months at a time,[2] a super slumber typically lasts for 50-300 years, with the vampire not setting an exact date to wake up from their deep, dreamless sleep. Vampires are therefore strongly advised against doing them as they will usually wake up in a much weaker state, finding that their loved ones are dead or moved away. However, the decision to start a super slumber will be respected by other vampires.[1]
History[]
In 2021, Nandor experienced a period of depression after failing to find love.[3][4] He then joined a cult that led him to think he could become human again, which led his roommates to kidnap and “de-program” him.[5] Nandor became so unhappy that he decided to take a super slumber, which upset his friends, but they respected his wishes and boarded up his room.
His slumber attempt was interrupted three times before it was abandoned. First, the Vampiric Council were invited to a feast at the house that very night, leading Nandor to demand Nadja pretend he was dead. The Council guests interrupted his sleep again to see his “corpse”. Finally, Guillermo woke Nandor up again to break the news that Colin Robinson was about to pass away.[1] After Colin's death, Nandor decided he would go travelling instead.[6]
