Sirens are human-animal hybrid creatures of ancient Roman and Greek mythology.
Characteristics[]
Although sirens are widely considered to be half-woman and half-fish, they can actually have the features of other different animals, most commonly types of birds. The bird-like sirens share some traits with the Kurangaituku of New Zealand, such as the building of giant nests.[1][2]
Sirens feed on fish and humans and are capable of swallowing large pieces of prey in one go. They lure humans with their singing, which is extremely seductive and has a hypnotic effect.[1]
History[]
In 2021, vampires Laszlo and Colin Robinson were lured by a siren song whilst sailing and crashed their boat into her island near New York. The siren, Sheila, seduced Colin while Laszlo was only just about able to leave the island to get help. Although Colin was led to believe he really was in love with Sheila, Laszlo saved him by making him wear noise-cancelling headphones and flying him off the island.[1]
