Shanice is a college student and vampire hunter. She appears in What We Do in the Shadows (TV series).
Biography[]
Shanice shared a dorm room with Jenna, and the two roleplayed as members of the Staten Island Community College LARPing Club. After Jenna unknowingly drank vampire blood, Shanice witnessed Jenna's health fail and initially assumed it was due to mono. Jenna suffered a bad fever, projectile vomited and began to prefer sleeping during the day.[1]
One day, Shanice went to buy medication for Jenna, who was sick. She returned to find Jenna lying dead in her bed and called 911. As the paramedics took Jenna's body away, she suddenly sprang back to life and ran inside, insisting she was okay while dark clouds gathered above.[2]
Shanice saw Jenna's transformation become even more surreal. Jenna started levitating in her sleep and she occasionally had the urge to tear Shanice "to shreds." Jenna's transformation completed when she ate her first victim at a party.[3]
Jenna never returned to college, and Shanice was devastated to lose her friend. Realising that Jenna was now a vampire, Shanice joined a vampire hunting club, the Mosquito Collectors of the Tri-State Area, alongside fellow members Claude, Derek and Tonya.
One night, the familiar Guillermo joined their meeting expecting to find virgins for his master, Nandor. The group revealed their true motives to him and welcomed him into the club. Shanice, the only member who had actually seen a vampire, sadly and angrily explained what happened to Jenna. Guillermo, having known Jenna, finally realized that he had never stopped to think about the loved ones of the vampire victims.[4]
Guillermo decided to continue meeting the Mosquito Collectors in order to infiltrate the group. At his second meeting, the members discussed the house which Shanice believed to be one of the last known locations of Jenna and left in a van to slay the residents inside. The club arrived at the house, which turned out to be a completely different home to the correct one (Guillermo's home). The group snuck in, split up and discovered multiple sleeping residents, who suddenly awoke and revealed themselves to be vampires. Guillermo fought them off, killing several of them, and rescued Shanice, Claude and Tonya, but was unable to save Derek, who was taken by the vampires. The group drove away in the van in a state of shock.[5]
