The Procession of Shame is a form of punishment for vampires who commit moderately serious crimes. It may be carried out as a result of independent vampire trials. Although widely feared by many vampires, is not the most severe known form of punishment when compared to execution or long-term imprisonment.[1]
The ritual consists of the guilty vampire standing while their accusers walk around them in a circle, pointing at them and repeatedly chanting "shame!" and "bad vampire!"
Nick recieved the punishment after a trial under Viago, Vladislav and Deacon. His crimes included bringing a human, Stu, into the Te Aro vampire residence (which was brushed aside as they liked him), telling people that he was a vampire, getting Petyr killed by a vampire hunter as a result, and wearing clothes that were too similar to Deacon's. After recieving the Procession, Nick was banished from the flat and was clearly more upset with the banishment than the Procession.[2]
