Jahan, also known as John, was a horse that belonged to Nandor. He appeared in What We Do in the Shadows (TV series).
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Nandor owned Jahan when he was a human soldier during the thirteenth century and Jahan assisted him in numerous pillages. Nandor may have rode Jahan on the day he destroyed Nadja’s village 200 years before her birth.[1] One day, Nandor and his army became stranded with no food and Nandor had no choice but to kill and eat Jahan. Nandor was devastated and wept while doing so, even though Jahan was ‘delicious’.[2]
What We Do in the Shadows, Season 1: 2019[]
Over 700 years later, Nandor forgot how to speak Persian[2] and mistakenly remembered Jahan’s name as “John”. Despite this, Nandor secretly missed him and regretted not being nicer to him, something he did not admit to anyone else until he was facing death during an execution attempt in 2019.[3]
What We Do in the Shadows, Season 2: 2020[]
The following year, Nandor and his roommates realised that ghosts had infested their house and held a séance which brought back the ghost of his human form who had died when he became a vampire. Nandor eventually realised that his ghost’s unfinished business was to be reunited with Jahan. Nandor, his ghost and Colin hold another séance and successfully brought Jahan’s ghost back. Both Nandor and his ghost were overjoyed to see Jahan back and Nandor’s ghost left for the afterlife with him.[2]
