"Invisible Fiend" is the first episode of the third series of Wellington Paranormal, and the fourteenth episode overall. It aired on 24 February 2021.
Synopsis[]
Officers Minogue and O'Leary and Sergeant Maaka return in an all-new season of the highly popular paranormal cop comedy. Tonight, Minogue and O'Leary go after a monstrous invisible force.[1]
Plot Summary[]
Officers Minogue and O'Leary respond to a call from a family of three who have returned to their house from a holiday to see that someone has appeared to have broken in. The officers enter and find an invisible force wrecking the house. They pursue it outside and they manage to bring it into the police car handcuffed to Minogue.
In the interrogation room, Parker uses heat-vision goggles in order to see the being, and is horrified to realise it is a large monster with several tentacles. The batteries of the goggles run out and Parker accidentally lets the monster escape from the room by opening the door to let out heat.
The Paranormal Unit chase the monster around the station using the night vision goggles plugged into the mains. The monster overpowers the four cops before exiting the building just before Sergeant Maaka can press the lockdown button. The door shutter cuts off one of the monster’s tentacles, which becomes visible as it falls to the floor.
Parker is ordered to take the tentacle to the evidence room, and his hand becomes invisible after coming into contact with the monster’s blood. Meanwhile, O'Leary and Minogue attempt to track down the monster by foot and car, but have no way of recharging the goggles. Defeated, the two officers reconvene in the station with Maaka and a now fully-invisible Parker, who has taken all his clothes off to check how invisible he has become.
In the morning, the officers return to the family home to file a victim’s report. They interview the parents, who say everything has gone back to normal, but O'Leary notices a child’s drawing on the fridge resembling the monster. The parents say the drawing is of “Daisy”, the imaginary friend of their young daughter Megan.
The officers go into Megan’s room and find her having a pretend tea party with a calm Daisy and several other imaginary friends. The officers conclude that Daisy has not broken any laws, but will have to wear a tracking device for security.
At the police station, Parker regains visibility while still naked, much to Maaka's annoyance.
