Dion is a werewolf and part of the Te Aro werewolf pack. He appears in What We Do in the Shadows (film) and Wellington Paranormal.
Biography[]
What We Do in the Shadows (film)[]
The 2014 documentary crew first encountered the pack when they passed the vampire flatmates and their human friend Stu. Deacon deliberately began to agitate them and Anton, the leader, had to calm the pack down and prevent them from transforming, which Dion and some of the others almost did. Anton eventually helped solve the conflict in a civil manner and they left the vampires.
A few weeks later, as the pack raced to chain themselves to trees before the full moon emerged, the vampire flatmates, who were leaving the Unholy Masquerade ball, began to pester them again. In the distraction the pack failed to chain themselves and transformed under the full moon. They attacked the group and documentary crew, leaving one member seriously injured or killed. Stu was disembowelled by the pack. Police officers O’Leary and Minogue assumed his injuries were caused by a dog and an ambulance was called. However as Stu was being carried in, he sprang back to life and fled the scene. He blacked out and woke up to see the pack in human form and mostly naked, with Anton offering him new clothes. Stu, now a werewolf, was accepted into the pack.
Shortly afterwards, Nick discovered Stu and brought him back to the flat, causing the vampires to befriend the pack.[1]
Wellington Paranormal[]
Dion began dating a human woman named Sheena. She was aware that he was a werewolf, but his constant transformations led to her leaving him. Unbeknownst to her, she gained lycanthropy from him.
During a full moon periodically concealed by cloud cover, Sheena transformed into a werewolf and attacked the scooter of a pizza delivery man, stealing his meat pizzas, attacked several dogs belonging to a gang leader and terrorised several people. She did not remember the experience as she was drunk.
When O'Leary and Minogue interviewed Sheena in her house and accused her of being a werewolf, she realised that Dion was to blame for her transformations. She broke apart her handcuffs and stormed into his house, where he was trying to spend the night playing video games while chained up. The two had a loud argument, accusing each other of cheating, and started making out. Realising that there was nothing they could do, the officers left the house as the couple began fighting. The officers said they would wait until morning and then consider having the werewolves microchipped and neutered.[2]
