Clarke Gayford is the presenter of the fishing documentary show Fish of the Day, and the fiancé of New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern. He appears in Wellington Paranormal.
Biography[]
In 2019, Gayford and nine other anglers were reported missing in Wellington Harbour. The Paranormal Unit sailed out into the water and saw a huge taniwha on the sonar. They drove back to the shore and discovered huge footprints, which they followed to a cave. There, they found all the missing people stuck to the cave walls with seaweed being stored as food. Gayford confirmed that the monster who captured them was indeed a taniwha, identifying the beast from Sergeant Maaka’s amulet.
As the captives were being rescued, a huge taniwha suddenly appeared and ate one of the fishermen before disappearing back into the water. Gayford and the other captives were unharmed.[1]
In the following year, during the coronavirus pandemic, Officer O'Leary video called Gayford while he was looking after his young daughter Neve. O'Leary was filming a PSA on looking after children under lockdown.[2]
