Carol is a vampire who lived in the sewers of Staten Island. She appears in the What We Do in the Shadows TV series.

Biography

Carol was born in 1869. She had a much more inhuman appearance than most vampires, with bulging white eyes and porcupine-like spines, and rarely spoke. Fellow vampire Simon the Devious found and befriended her in the Staten Island sewers while he plotted to gain back the cursed witch skin hat from Laszlo Cravensworth. Carol was recruited as a member of his gang, the Leather Skins.

One night, Simon lured a passing Laszlo and Nadja into the sewers by calling out to them, and claimed that Carol and Count Rapula were the only remaining members of the Leather Skins, the others having abandoned him. Nadja felt so sorry for him that she offhandedly invited them to their house, leading Laszlo to storm off with her. The two argued on the way home and upon arriving, they found Simon, Carol and Rapula already receiving a house tour from Nandor.

Carol was immediately intimidating towards Guillermo and all the vampires assumed she wanted to eat him. However when the two were later alone, she finally spoke and correctly accused him of being a "slayer" of vampires. She attacked him and Guillermo defended himself with a broken broom, impaling and killing her. Her body immediately turned into dust and Nandor arrived at the scene to investigate the sounds. He saw the dust and Guillermo broke down, admitting that he accidentally killed her, leaving Nandor shocked and suspicious. Nandor insisted they keep the incident a secret to protect them both and Guillermo “dusted” Carol’s remains away. Simon assumed that she had simply run away.

Carol was featured in the in memoriam section of the Théâtre des Vampires shortly afterwards.
