Benjy Everett

Benjy Everett is a vampire, and a former familiar of Nandor the Relentless. He appears in the What We Do in the Shadows TV series.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Benjy served as Nandor's familiar during the 1970s until Nandor grew tired of him frequently asking to be turned into a vampire, and left him at a rest stop in Delaware. He was rescued by a woman named Paula, who assumed his memory loss was due to intoxication (though in reality his memory had been wiped). He went on to live a normal life working in insurance, eventually marrying Paula, with whom he started a family.^[1]

What We Do in the Shadows, Season 2: 2020[]

Eventually Benjy began to regain memories of the time spent as Nandor's familiar, as well as the promise Nandor made to turn him into a vampire. He returns to the vampire residence believing that Nandor's abandonment had been a test of his worthiness.

After Guillermo de la Cruz's departure, Benjy briefly reclaims his job as Nandor's familiar, though his age causes many difficulties as he struggles to perform his duties, unable to lift heavy objects or bend over due to his bad back. Benjy's poor performance forces Nandor to make concessions and rethink his treatment of Guillermo, and also makes good on his promise to Benjy, turning him into a vampire at last.^[1]
