Al Qolnidar[2] was a 13th-century nation in the southern region of modern Iran. Locals spoke Al Qolnidarese.[3]

Nandor's homeland[]

Nandor was born in Al Qolnidar in 1262,[1] and crowned the nation's Supreme Viceroy in 1279. The vampire household annually celebrates Nandor's Accession Day.[4]

The country was dissolved in 1401: an event that Nandor himself failed to notice for over six centuries.[1]

Nandor secretly smuggled 850 pounds of ancestral treasure from Al Qolnidar, kept in a hidden chamber beneath the Staten Island vampire residence.[5]

Behind the Scenes[]

While Al Qolnidar is completely fictional, during the medieval period the lands that now comprise modern-day Iran were united under the Ilkhanate from 1256-1335,[6] and later under the Timurid Empire through the fifteenth century.[7] The year of Nandor's birth coincides with the height of the Berke–Hulagu war.
