Adam Minogue is the brother of Officer Kyle Minogue. Although mentioned by Kyle several times in Wellington Paranormal, Adam never appears on camera.
Biography[]
Adam spurred Kyle’s belief in the paranormal by dressing up as a ghost one Christmas when Kyle was seven years old.[1]
Kyle considers Adam to be “freaky” and O'Leary has met him at some point.[2] It is implied that Adam lives with his brother. Adam often complains about Kyle’s washing up, which Kyle considers to be a personal attack.[3] He also smokes vape pens around the house, which Kyle dislikes.[4] Adam sometimes makes salads for Kyle. One of which, a plain lettuce salad, saved the officer from extraterrestrial floras as it contained slugs, which was used to scare them away.[5]
According to Kyle, Adam apparently has a tattoo of his mother’s back on his face; it should have been the other way round but Adam is a poor communicator.[5] Adam once received soap for Christmas and seemed quite bewildered upon unwrapping them.[6]
During New Zealand’s lockdown in response to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Adam, Kyle and their dog Tinker had to stay at home, which at one point caused Adam to go “full Mad Max” and set up his own country, "Adam Land". O’Leary encouraged the brothers to calm down by watching the film rather than re-enact it, and Adam's voice was finally heard when he agreed.[7] Adam’s unusual appearance and behaviour later caused Kyle to suspect that he was a werewolf.[8]
